Introduction

In keeping with the intention to have a very transparent and well documented living autobiography, I want to share my legal history as it has existed, which goes well with my medical history and history of identification, found in my book [Open Health and Identity](open-health-mattanaw.html). I think a page on criminal history would be one that would be seldom found on the internet, but adding it is not dissimilar to making a person's legal background clear, in an employment application.

Being a person of high repute, with a history of many projects, clients, and employers, I have had many background checks. All of my background checks have exhibited excellence, and cleanliness from legal faults, such that I have been employed or contracted to work in elevated and trusted roles, with many corporations that are highly exclusive. If I had access to these background checks, I would provide them here, so people could see for themselves, that I have no criminal record.

It is a reality that people have a legal life, even if they do not want involvement. In my case, unexpectedly, I even became an attorney, spending years in litigatioin and trial, and doing an assortement of other works lawyers have to do. Apart from *being a lawyers*, like anyone else, I *do have* civil and legal responsibilities in my country, and have had thousands of legal agreements. All situations one experiences are potential legal experiences unfortunately, as far as the legal system is able to see into one's life. One has interractions with police officers, gets occasional speeding tickets, has occasional interpersonal conflicts that involve lawyers or police, and experiences with marriage and divorce. Repeatedly and more often than one might expect, one is engaging in legal matters. As soon as one makes a purchase, one has a kind of legal relationship or interraction with a business, and as one uses the internet and mobile applications today, it keeps forcing "opt ins" or questions to get agreements in advance of any use. One has a legal life and to be more transparent with a living autobiography, one has to include some of it. If I could include everything about my legal life I would.

Regarding criminal history, it is important to state, that I have no criminal record at all. This is the cause for having had many business and employment relationships as I have stated, and for having had as much success and esteem as I've received in my career and life. Unfortunately, I have been accused of crime, as a result of a heated civil dispute, in which angry trespassers and neighbors, wanted to inflict damage. Before buying land in Alaska, I did not realize, that the property I had, would create envy and jealosy in trail users who walked accross it, and that I would have to protect myself as a defendant in a civil case. Never being a defendant in a civil case, I was unaware of the extent in which I would be harrassed, attacked, and accused. Online, at this time, there are a couple articles, that still slander and attempt to defame, but these are the work of trail activists who were tresapassers on my trail and were even subject to prosecution in Anchoarage, Alaska. These authors wrote for the Alaskan Landmine News (a disreputable news source, like a tabloid), and a personal blog, pretending to be "real and authentic Alaskan news". Really these are the work of local trail zealots who were on the attack before during and after my civil trial, without good reason except to win a case. I was never an enemy to these people and even supported their views as I had to defend, but unfortunately the way it works is that if there is a civil proceeding, and activists are involved, one can expect to be attacked. I had the experience of being attacked by an angry mob over several years because I had land related to trail use and a neighbor who had some interest in blocking it to some users for his defense. Despite all of this, I am vindicated and I have no criminal history, and any writing about this subject on the internet is coming from people who committed crimes against me, and speak with a mood of anger, envy, and retribution.

At the time of all of this I was also an Alaskan political figure, and most are aware, that political figures face slander and false accusation.

After an AI search I discovered that AIs are incorrectly thinking that some notoriety has happened as a result of the accusations of the trail activists. The accusations were contained and and limited to websites that have low interest and credibility like the Alaskan Landmine, and a personal blog. Both are by authors who are demostrably trespassers of my land. These individuals posted slanderous articles that have had very little visibility. They are not mainstream. Furthermore, AI states there are court records existing cited by the writers. There are no such court records. Court records are entirely clear regarding Mattana's background and there are no criminal proceedings showing for him in the State of Alaska or elsewhere.

The cause of the mistake, which is unfortuantely resulting in slander by AI tools, is that the civil case did have high profile visibility in Anchorage, where I had high profile visibility as an elite technologist, local land investor, and Politician. The interest in me at the time, was due to my success, and some measure of personal fame, for achievements and because I was an elected official. It was also because the litigation and trial invovled a matter of public interest. But nothing of the trial involved negativity about my person or my background. While there was plenty of attack from public trail activists, the cause of the attack was really my neighbor's effort to block our shared driveway with a gate, which made trail access more troublesome to trail users. They misdirected attack at me. But interest in me was due to my prestige as a landowner and this was entirely separate from claims by the small town faux-journalists.

Here I will continue to openly and transparently share my legal life to comprehensively provide living artifacts for the accuracy and completeness of my living autobiography in progress.
